Eredo: Queen Sheeba's Pyramid in Nigeria - larger than Gizeh?23 comments
picture24 Jun 2003 @ 15:48, by Max Sandor

One of the targets of my next trip (to Nigeria) will be Eredo, seen by some as the burial place, if not the original home land of Queen Shebah.

There, still covered by the jungle, lies hidden a pyramid

which must have required more earth moving for its construction than the Gizeh pryamid, according to some British scientists that surveyed the ruins a few years ago.

There are very few links and photos (still) on the web. I will probably do a more extensive site and some video coverage.

What is most interesting is that there is an extensive irrigation system connected to the pyramid.

The possible burial place of the legendary Queen Shebah is still visited by many thousand Christians and Muslims alike every year.

I will stay in Olologe/Odeda, quite close to Ijebu-Ode and Eredo. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Don't have any immediate contacts in Nigeria - more in the Mali, and sub-Saharan region. Don't forget to swing by this part of Africa, if possible! (You may bump into JD......) ;-)

Are you familiar with the actual Temple of Sheba and other of her structures still standing in Yemen?

I'm just reading the part in Velikovsky's book "Ages in Chaos" where he proves the identity of the Queen of Sheba - very interesting.

4 Sep 2003 @ 19:23 by Jude Adebosoye Ogunade @193.220.177.4 : IJEBU - Mentioned in the Golden Bough
I will be glad if anyone could please give me some information that
may corroborate this statements which I came across whilst reading
the Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazier:

In the province of Lagos, the Ijebu tribe of the Yoruba race is
divided into two branches, which are known respectively as the Ijebu
Ode and the Ijebu Remon. The Ode branch of the tribe is ruled by a
chief who bears the title of Awujale and is surrounded by a great
deal of mystery. Down to recent times his face might not be seen
even by his own subjects, and if circumstances obliged him to
communicate with them he did so through a screen which hid him from
view. The other or Remon branch of the Ijebu tribe is governed by a
chief, who ranks below the Awujale. Mr. John Parkinson was informed
that in former times this subordinate chief used to be killed with
ceremony after a rule of three years. As the country is now under
British protection the custom of putting the chief to death at the
end of a three years' reign has long been abolished, and Mr.
Parkinson was unable to ascertain any particulars on the subject.

Thanks,
Jude

Please let me know if you find any connection with the Queen of Shebas burial; place in Nigeria and that of the Ethiopie River in Warri Delta State. Maybe the name of this river may find its roots in Ethiopia.

Thanks very much for pointing out another pyramid site.

I'll second what sharie said in an earlier comment -- that Hatshepsut was the Biblical "Queen of Sheba" -- and point out that pyramids (Earth, mudbrick, stone, whatever) are fairly common throughout the Earth, including the Canary Islands, the interior of China, pre-Roman Etruria, Greece, the Americas, as well as Egypt, and the dates of these are all over the ages.

The "your URL" is actually a pointer to someone's bootleg, er, quote, of chapter 15 of "Ages In Chaos". Here's the pointer to the book on Amazon:

2 Feb 2005 @ 02:20 by Jude Adebosoye Ogunade @81.199.93.149 : Bilikisu Sungbo: The Queen of Sheba?
Bilikisu Sungbo is the name I grew up to know about the Shrine in Eredo near Ijebu - Ode where I grew up. I was surprised to read in Arabic that Queen Sheba is referred to as Bilqis. Well Bilikisu is like the local pronounciation of Bilqis. So, was Queen Sheba really buried there...Please some achaeologists should do some work...And the Bilikisu story had been around before even the Hausas and the Fulanis brought Islam to the Ijebus...

7 Dec 2005 @ 04:24 by sylvester idoko @82.128.1.135 : is she realy queen of sheeba
since we know the grave a DNA test can help us know where the said bilikis came from and pls is there a pyramid there?

15 Jan 2006 @ 18:05 by DOUTY OULARE @69.169.154.119 : Eredo
I just want to know if there is an actual pyramid on the Eredo site, or if it is just the ruins of an ancient pyramid. Can anyone give me some clarifications?

14 May 2006 @ 05:03 by Folake Coker @24.98.165.192 : Queen of Sheba
My father grew up in Ijebu-Ode and told me that when he was a little boy, they were always told not go into the forest because it was the resting place of a great Queen. I also believe that the Queen of Sheba is buried there. The story that he was told was that she returned with all of her people, the Yoruba's. This is what was passed down for years. Apparently he also said that there are supposedly a lot of things that are buried with her.

13 Nov 2006 @ 02:41 by Jude Adebosoye Ogunade @41.204.36.173 : Bilikisu=Queen of Sheba
The third year running, my questions are largely unanswered! I will be glad and indeed very grateful if anyone could please corroborate the story I read in the Golden Bough (about the Ijebu - Remon chief)and if Bilikusu Sugbo is actually the Queen of Sheba. Thanks! Adebosoye Ogunade

What's the deal with that statue? Is it contemporary, or is apart of old Nigeria? I've seen this picture several times when the topic of Sungo Eredo is brought up, but I haven't seen any explanation.

17 Apr 2007 @ 20:40 by mx @201.42.33.171 : some answers (or not)
sdsdf: It is a bronze statue nearby the pyramid representing the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode. See [link] for the history....

Ayotunde Ogundipe: my limited knowledge corroborates your remarks above.

Jude: the Golden bough contains much truth but a lot of confusion, too. Your best bet is to contact Ayotunde Ogundipe (see above). He has specific knowledge on this topic and shares it.

MX, thanks very much! You are very right about the status of books especially, books on mysteries, magic, history etc. I am still waiting for a concrete evidence on my two questions: the IJEBU - ODE/REMON chief and Awujale story and of course, the Bilqis statement documented by the two HOLY books of the world and of course made certain by the moats in Oke Eri (Oke Eri - translated means 'Mountain of Evidence' and is it by coincidence or mere chance that the Bilqis, moats story is situated at Oke Eri - Mountain of Evidence?). I usually prefer tangibly - existing evidence (that something happened - MOATS) to documentary evidence - that is usually subject to embellishment and perhaps 'falsification' to satisfy the dictates and tastes of the collective consciousness of those involved in propagation of 'goodnews'
